Glorifying God together as disciples making disciples

Safeguarding at Finaghy Baptist Church

Proverbs 31:8 calls the church to ‘Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,

for the rights of all who are destitute.’ This is because the very heart of God is to protect the vulnerable. Safeguarding is an outworking of our faith to mirror this heart of care and an integral part of our ministry and mission.

We are committed to the safeguarding, care, and flourishing of everyone in our church community. We are striving to create a community defined by a culture where every person is valued, heard, and protected. Part of that culture is helping young people understand that God wants them to be safe, that their voice matters, and that speaking up is not betrayal – it’s bravery – and that reflects the character of God.

At Finaghy Baptist Church our Safeguarding Team is at the centre of this culture. The team has been fully trained with regard to Adult and Child Protection procedures and remain vigilant for any problems of this nature.
